We are currently booking the honeymoon which we are going on in March and which is partly a surprise – to me … so exciting!!!!!
We had a weeks skiing with great friends after the wedding and it was brilliant which you wouldn’t expect to hear from someone who is louis vuitton scared of heights, whilst I can take or leave the red runs I had some good days on the slopes and a string of hilarious apres ski sessions and dinners with pals every night and it was lovely.
We are off to Oz for a friends wedding so we had to delay our real honeymoon 2 months although it is something that many couples do these News Blog days. It is actually lovely to be back at home for a bit, getting over the overwhelming last few weeks then go on the holiday of a lifetime (hopefully)! We have stuck to tradition and I have no idea where we are going – the groom is deciding and booking all, I know that the destination is on the way to Oz, luckily he has good taste and he does know that camping, trekking and anything cold is out of the question – carte blanche aside from that! I’m not so sure TR can keep it a secret for another month but we shall see. TR tends to deliberate for days about where to go, what to do there and how to get there. I’m a ‘think about it, book it and go’ kind of gal so i’d rather leave him to it, knowing he will fully investigate every option and I don’t have to!
I’ve noticed that with Summer weddings people often go on African Safari – having done that before I can thoroughly recommend it – a beautiful part of the world and a 3 day safari is a brilliant thing to do – take Uggs, other relaxing places such as Mauritius and the Maldives are beautiful but not good until the right season – Oct – April. A friend just spend 3 gorgeous weeks in Thailand and another in Paris – I think Brazil is an underrated honeymoon destination too.
Whether to wear High heels took a lot of discussion in the run up to the big day. Initially i wanted high nude peep toe Christian Louboutin satin shoes and was willing to pay for them! Then i lost my job and couldn’t do any of these frivolous things - I do think it is an occasion where they are worth it – or the Jimmy Choo’s and they both have beautiful wedding collections (Ivory / white shoes can also be dyed afterwards).
Emmy vintage wedding shoes are gorgeous and there are some stores on Chiltern Street in north London full of an array of fab wedding shoes that don’t all cost the earth. I found mine online and they were by Pink, there were a gorgeous high heeled little boot, quite vintage looking and something I will definitely wear again.
